MarinersWiki is a free web-based project created in 2008 with the goal of inspiring a collaborative community and dynamic knowledge base for those with a passion for boating and related topics.
We invite people of all ages, cultures, and social backgrounds, to submit
information and write articles on topics relevant for this site. You do
not need specialized qualifications to contribute to the knowledge base
of MarinersWiki. Usually information can be edited by anyone with access
to the Internet.
You are welcome to add information, and create cross-references or citations,
as long as you do so responsibly. Don't worry about accidentally damaging
MarinersWikis when adding or improving information, as it is possible
for others to revise obvious errors.
MarinersWiki differs from books and traditional published resources in
exciting ways. It provides a dynamic exchange of information to which
anyone can contribute. Unlike paper reference materials, MarinersWiki
may be continually updated, within seconds, rather than months or years.
With your participation we hope this site will grow and serve as a gathering
place for relevant information and topics of interest to the maritime
enthusiast. |
